SGA adds extra Covid-19 Protocols

Posted on: 18th November 2020

In line with UK Government’s new Health Protection (Coronavirus Restrictions) (England) (No.4) Regulations which came into effect on 5 November, SGA Technologies has re-assessed our Covid-19 safe working practices and introduced new protocols in the workplace.

Whilst we have already implemented social distancing practices, and limited both the number of staff on site each workday and the number of people who can take a tea or lunch break at the same time, we have now added the requirement for a temperature test upon entering the premises and require all staff and visitors to wear a mask when moving around the building.

Debbie de Silva, HR Manager, says, “We take the health of our staff very seriously, and whilst we need to maintain levels of production and manufacturing to meet our clients’ requirements, the focus on keeping our staff and visitors healthy and safe during the Covid-19 pandemic is a first priority.

“We are ensuring that we apply all the recommendations by UK Government, as well as implementing extra precautions and practices specific to our business, to suit the needs of our staff.”

De Silva adds, “Where staff have indicated that they want to return to work we have accommodated that as far as possible. And in terms of a policy on symptoms, should an employee display any of the symptoms of the Coronavirus, we require them to go home, get tested and in the event of a positive result we ask them to self-isolate for 14 days to ensure we minimize infection risk at work.”
