Specialist Engineering Capability to support our Hermetics and Plating divisions
Our Pre-Tec Engineering division supports our main Hermetics and Plating business in a number of ways, from custom tooling and metal stamping to specialist wire cutting and forming for use in glass-to-metal sealing applications.
Custom tooling
Our highly-skilled team of toolmakers gives us the in-house capability to manufacture a range of tools including progression tools, jigs and fixtures using CAD/CAM for design, and Fanuc wire erosion and CNC milling for production.
Metal stamping
Our in-house machines enable us to design and manufacture specialist components and pressings for use in our Hermetics and Plating products.
Our range of punching machines can accommodate up to 8 tons, with a bending capacity of up to 2.5 tons, with our Finzer multi-slide machine giving accurate multi-million batch production of highly complex components to the highest degree of accuracy and precision.
Wire cutting and forming
Our Pre-Tec Engineering wire division gives SGA Technologies extensive capability for cutting and forming specialist wire products using a range of materials including:
- Brass
- Copper
- Nickel alloys
- Copper core alloys
- Hastelloy
Precision manufacture means we’re able to attain a range of sizes from 0.25mm to 2.5mm, covering a range of manufacturing outputs including:
- Wire forming
- Wire cutting and straightening
- Barrelling processes
- Hand forming
- Lapping
- Cold heading
